Lovatsville and the Australian Trainers' Association renew partnership for a third successive season

Victorian stallion farm Lovatsville has confirmed the continuation of its celebrated partnership with the Australian Trainers' Association (ATA) for a third consecutive season, cementing what has quickly become one of the most innovative intersections between the Victorian racing and breeding industries.

The initiative sees Lovatsville provide stallion nominations to winning trainers of 20 select races scheduled across metropolitan and regional Victoria from Sunday 19 July through to Monday 7 September 2026, with more than $155,000 worth of nominations available exclusively to ATA members who take out eligible races.

To be eligible to receive the stallion nomination, the winning trainer of each select race — or the next best placegetter — must be a current ATA member. The trainer can choose to use the nomination on a mare of their own, or monetise it within their client base.

“Reaching our third year of this partnership feels like a genuine milestone. What started as something we hoped would resonate with trainers has clearly hit the mark, and we have been inspired by the response from the industry. Trainers are at the coalface of this sport every single day — absorbing costs, backing horses, backing owners — and this is our way of backing them. We’re also really excited to be able to include Espionage in the program this year. He’s a horse we’re incredibly proud to have at Lovatsville and we look forward to giving trainers the chance to win a nomination to him.”

— Sam White, Founder, Lovatsville

“On behalf of the ATA and its members, I’m delighted to continue this partnership with Sam and the team at Lovatsville into its third year. What Sam has built here is a genuine model for how our breeding and racing sectors can work together. Our trainers put everything into this industry, and having partners like Lovatsville who understand that and want to reward them for their effort is something we are enormously grateful for. The chance to win a nomination to a stallion of real quality — and to either use it or pass that value on to a client — is a meaningful bonus on top of winning the race itself.”

— Troy Corstens, President, Australian Trainers’ Association

“Credit to Sam and the team at Lovatsville for creating this concept and growing it into the success that it is today alongside the ATA. Winning a service to a stallion based in their own backyard is a great prize for Victorian trainers, and the perfect intersection between trainers and the local breeding industry. The RV team is looking forward to seeing this initiative enter its third year and see which trainers are successful across the 20 races.”

— Josh Grimwood, Racing Operations & VOBIS/Owner Manager, Racing Victoria

The 2026 Lovatsville Roster

Espionage: NEW – A multiple Group-winning 2-year-old son of Champion Sire Zoustar, a $1 million Magic Millions yearling purchased by James Harron, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. Standing for $11,000 (incl. GST).
Move To Strike: The first Group 1 winning 2-year-old to stand at stud by I Am Invincible. His first foals are imminent, after a quality 143-mare first book. Standing for $16,500 (incl. GST).
Royal Meeting: Capable of getting a Champion 2-year-old like Hayasugi — a city winner anywhere across the nation or a trade horse to Hong Kong as his record there continues to grow. Standing for $8,800 (incl. GST).
Fierce Impact: Four stakes performers, an 8% black-type-to-runners strike rate, and a Deep Impact-line profile the market has been freshly reminded of by the rise of Sheza Alibi. Standing for $8,800 (incl. GST).
Generation: Profiles remarkably closely to Sword Of State in pedigree, physique and performance — that boom young sire has earned a fee rise to $50,000 this season off the back of a fast start. Standing for $6,600 (incl. GST).
Gold Trip: The only horse since Rising Fast to contest consecutive Cox Plates, Caulfield Cups and Melbourne Cups. An unbelievable $5,500 this season (incl. GST).
