Lovatsville has set Gold Trip’s service fee at $5,500 (incl. GST) for the 2026 season — down from $8,800 — opening one of the best performed racehorses currently at stud to a far wider book of mares.

With 4 of the last 7 winners of the Melbourne Cup being bred in Australasia and the 3 year-old Oaks and Derby’s being predominantly won by locally bred horses, Gold Trip’s performance, physique and pedigree make him an unbelievable value for money proposition when looking to breed a Classic winner.

For four consecutive seasons, Gold Trip held a place inside the world’s top 120 horses on the official rankings — earned in the deepest weight-for-age and middle-distance company on offer in Europe and Australia. At three he was fourth in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, beaten less than a length and a half behind Sottsass, In Swoop and Persian King. At four, carrying 58 kg, he ran the Group 1 winner Mare Australis to a length and a half in the Prix Ganay and was beaten a nose into third in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.

With Ciaron Maher and David Eustace he then did something only one other horse has managed in the modern Australian record: contested the Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup in two consecutive years, winning, placing or running honestly in every one.
